The Cannery to sponsor annual fall showdown at BullringWednesday, October 8, 2003
The Cannery Casino and Hotel will sponsor the annual fall showdown at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Oct. 24-25. The event, originally scheduled for Nov. 7-8, will include Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds and Mechanix Wear Speed Trucks.
¿The Bullring is excited to have The Cannery support our annual season ending event,¿ Andy Adamcik, manager of short track racing. ¿The Cannery Showdown features the top drivers from the southwest and traditionally provides some of the best racing action of the year. We look forward to working with the Cannery in creating an even better event by providing a host hotel conveniently located to the speedway with all the amenities one expects in Las Vegas.¿
The 140-lap Super Late Model event is one of the biggest in the country. Current NASCAR stars Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch and Brendan Gaughan have competed in this event in past years. The Mechanix Wear Speed Trucks will run 199 laps and the IMCA Modified have a 40-lap feature on the card as well.
¿We are very proud to be involved in the local and regional racing community through our Cannery Showdown sponsorship,¿ said Jim Dickstein, general manager, Cannery Casino and Hotel. ¿We look forward to seeing the many race fans at the speedway and here at The Cannery Casino & Hotel.
"Since we opened in January, 2003, it has been our driving goal to become very involved with Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It is a natural partnership. The Cannery is the closest casino and hotel to the race track. The festive atmosphere of The Cannery fits racers¿ and fans¿ desire for superb lodging, dining, gaming, and entertainment!"
