All eight racing divisions will compete this Saturday in The Orleans NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Super Late Models, Late Models, Stewart Motorsports IMCA Modifieds, Chargers, Legends Cars, Bandolero Cars, Thunder Roadsters presented by VP Racing Fuels and Tri-State Petroleum and 7-Eleven Bullring Bombers are on the racing card. Scott Gafforini is the new Super Late Model points leader after securing a second-place finish last week. Gafforini leads Chuck Trickle, Mike Cofer and Rick Rochell. Late Models compete in twin 25-lap main events. After one event, Glenn Burke leads Mark Schottmuller by one point and rookie Travis Swalwell by four. The 7-Eleven Bullring Bombers make the first appearance of the season in a 50-lap feature to close the night. The Las Vegas F-Body Association featuring Chevrolet Camaros and Pontiac Firebirds will adorn the checkerboard walkway and midway areas. Super Late Model points leader and LVFBA member Gafforini will lead a parade lap in his 1979 Trans Am. Spectator gates open at 6 p.m. with qualifying at 6:15 and racing at 7:15. General admission is $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens/military personnel and $3 for children ages 6-12. Children five and under are free. Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. Admission for NASCAR members is $20 and $25 for non- members.
