Cofer looks to pad Sunbelt Region lead
at the Bullring this Saturday

Mike Cofer, driver of the KB Home No. 04, took over more than the Bullring¿s point lead this past weekend. Cofer, who has four wins in six starts this season, also sits atop NASCAR¿s Sunbelt Region standings as well. Cofer will look to increase that lead in Saturday night¿s 40-lap Super Late Model feature this Saturday as part of The Orleans NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series.

For a two-time Super Bowl champion kicker, this points race is not exactly added pressure.

¿The season just started,¿ Cofer said. ¿We¿ve got a long way to go. It¿s nice to be off to such a good start, but we really just want to concentrate on winning the next race. A lot of people lead point races early on, but there are a lot of races between now and the end of the season.¿

Cofer heads into Saturday¿s race leading Chuck Trickle by one point 278-277. Scott Gafforini is third with 260 points.

The 7-Eleven Bullring Bombers will return to the track as well this upcoming Saturday night with a 50-lap feature event.  Tim Click continues to hold the lead in the point race while Troy Rawling is a close second. Bandoleros (10 laps), Legends (25 laps), Thunder Roadsters (25 laps), Chargers (25 laps) and Late Models (25 laps) also are on Saturday¿s schedule.

Other point leaders include: Glen Burke (Late Models), Tom Youmans (Chargers), Ken Kulikowski (IMCA Modifieds), Michael Fredericks (Pro Legends Cars), Rick Rogas (Master Legends Cars), Taylor Barton (Semi-Pro Legends Cars), Dave Green (Thunder Roadsters), and Jonathan Mawhinney (Bandoleros).
