The battle for the Super Late Model title will heat up Saturday night at Craftsman Night at the races as the premier division returns to the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for a 40-lap feature event. One of many hometown favorites, Chuck Trickle, leads the 2003 season with 561 points. Scott Gafforini took the checkered flag on July 26 and made a 19-point gain on Chuck Trickle. Gafforini currently trails Trickle by 14 points (561-547). After the July 26 race, other Super Late Model drivers made up ground in the points race. Rookie Spencer Clark passed Mike Cofer for third in the standings. Clark trails points leader, Trickle, by 40 points (561-521). Stewart Motorsports IMCA Modifieds, Chargers, Legends Cars, Thunder Roadsters presented by Tri-State Petroleum and VP Racing Fuels, Bandolero Cars, and the 7-Eleven Bullring Bombers also will race this weekend at the Bullring. Drivers leading the point standings in their respective divisions are Glen Burke (Late Models), Doug Matter (Chargers), Ken Kulikowski (IMCA Modifieds), Michael Fredericks (Pro Legends Cars), Rick Rogas (Master Legends Cars), Alex Haase (Semi-Pro Legends Cars), Dave Green (Thunder Roadsters), Kyle Huender (Bandoleros), and Darren Rollins (Bullring Bombers). Junior race fans can register for the Bullring Pit Crew Kids Club at any weekly series this season. The program is free to children ages 5-12. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with qualifying at 6:20 and racing at 7:15. General admission is $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens/military personnel and $3 for children ages 6-12. Children five and under are free.
