Fan Appreciation Night at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Saturday marks the end of the regular Orleans NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series. Although it¿s the end of the regular season, two more races are schedule for later this year at the Bullring (Open Wheel Extravaganza and Cannery Showdown). Race fans will be treated to a $5 general admission price in honor of Fan Appreciation Night, while three divisions (Chargers, Legends Cars and 7-Eleven Bullring Bombers) compete head-to-head for the finale and crowning of champions. The closest championship points battle is in the Charger division. A mere nine points separate leader Doug Matter and Tom Youmans. Fifteen points separate rookie Phil Goodwin and Jim Petrie for the third spot. Alex Haase leads the Semi-Pro Legends Cars division, Michael Fredericks leads the Pro Legends Cars division, Rick Rogas leads the Master Legends Cars division and Darren Rollins leads the 7-Eleven Bullring Bombers division. The 7-Eleven Bullring Bombers will compete in a spectacular grand enduro: The Slurpee Challenge. In the challenge, drivers will compete in three segments (50 laps, 40 laps and 20 laps, respectively). The driver who has the best average finishes of all three segments combined is declared the winner. Also on the racing card are Stewart Motorsports IMCA Modifieds and a demolition derby. Gates open at 6 p.m. with qualifying at 6:30 and racing at 7:15. General admission is $5 for adults/military personnel/ senior citizens, $3 for children 6-12 and children 5 and under are free.
