Las Vegas Motor Speedway officials have penalized three drivers who compete in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series at the Bullring as a result of rules infractions following Saturday night's event. Justin Johnson, Dennis Lovelady and Jim Petrie have been assessed penalties. NASCAR Super Late Model driver Justin Johnson has been fined $100 and placed on probation from the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway until Sept. 15, 2005. Johnson was penalized for violating Rule 6-1.2: "…rough driving … will not be tolerated. Penalties will be issued based on the severity of the incident including, but not limited to, fines, suspension and probation," in the 2005 Bullring Rule Book. IMCA Modifieds driver Dennis Lovelady was disqualified for failing to meet weight requirements. Charger driver Jim Petrie was penalized for violating Rule 11-8.8: "Axles must be solid, magnetic steel. Gun drilling or boring axles is not permitted," in the 2005 Bullring Rule Book. Lovelady and Petrie were removed from the official results and will not receive points or prize money.
