The 2007 Duel in the Desert will be held on Nov. 15-17, 2007 at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  It will mark the 10th running of the biggest dirt event in the Western United States.

"The Duel in the Desert continues to grow and this year's event was absolutely phenomenal," said Chris Blair, senior director of drag strip and dirt track operations at LVMS. "The races featured star-studded field, lots of passing and was exciting from start to finish. The 10th annual event will be even bigger and we want to make sure that our fans and participants can make their travel plans well in advance."

In 2006, the event expanded to a three-day show for the IMCA Modifieds and a two-day program for the Western Dirt Late Model Tour Late Models.  A total of 179 Modifieds and 79 Late Models participated in the race.
"The race format worked well for all of the 258 participants," Blair said. "The format will be similar in 2007 but an additional Late Model special feature will be added to the Friday night program to give both the fans and drivers an even more exciting show.  We also have some special features planned to celebrate the tenth running of the event."
A detailed race schedule, entry forms and additional event info will be distributed on March 1, 2007 by LVMS and the IMCA.
