Schedules, purse and race format have been set for the Western All-Stars Late Model Series portion of the inaugural Las Vegas Dirt Classic at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The event, which will also feature the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars, will include two complete programs of racing on Thursday, March 8 and Friday, March 9 in conjunction with the annual NASCAR Weekend at LVMS. "The Dirt Track at LVMS is proud to partner with both USAC and the Western All-Stars for the production of an incredible dirt racing event," said Chris Blair, LVMS vice president of racing operations. "The USAC/CRA Sprint Cars will feature the top open-wheel racers in the country and our Dirt Late Model program is shaping up to be a spectacular event." The Western All-Stars Late Model Series will feature a $3,000 to win, $500 to start, 30-lap feature both nights. The $17,150 A-main event each night includes the original LVMS posted purse of $14,550 and an additional $2,600 posted by Best Choice "Best Choice, a west coast real estate investment company, has been a tremendous supporter of the Western All-Star Series and the sport of Late Model racing," said Western All-Stars promoter Chris Kearns. "Thanks to their support, the opening event of 2007 at LVMS is going to attract some of the top racers from around the country." Spectator gates open each day at 4 p.m. with qualifying at 5 p.m. and the first heat race at 6 p.m. The Late Model program will feature group qualifying, six heat races, two last chance races and the A-main event.
