Las Vegas' Dana Westover claimed No. 1 Qualifier status in his '93 Toyota in the NHRA Sport RWD division for Saturday night's eliminations.  Daniel Dolofan, also of Las Vegas, qualified fourth in the same class.

  • This is an NHRA national event.  NHRA Summit Sport Compact Series also competes in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Englishtown, N.J., Gainesville, Fla., Atco, N.J., Ennis, Tex., Woodburn, Ore., Sonoma, Calif. and Pomona, Calif.


  • Rear-wheel drive and front-wheel drive sport compacts drag racing at speeds up to 200 mph.  4 cyl. and 6 cyl. sport compact cars.  Nitrous oxide and turbochargers!

Classes include:  Pro RWD, Pro FWD, Modified, Hot Rod and All Motor. 


  • NHRA Sound Challenge presented by Sony Xplod and Car Audio and Electronics Magazine

Noon -- Car show registration (closes at 5 p.m.).

4 p.m. -- Spectator and racer gates open, tech inspection for new bracket arrivals (closes at 6 p.m.).

6 p.m. -- Final Sport Compact bracket time trial (1 run).

7 p.m. -- NHRA Stylefest presented by Sony Xplod.

7:30 p.m. -- Opening ceremonies.

8 p.m. -- Race eliminations.



Saturday: $20 adult, $8 kids 6-12. Kids 5 and under are free.
