Sept. 6 drag racers¿ Run-for-the-Money charity event to benefit

Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities

Local drag racers will participate in a charity Run-for-the-Money event during the second annual Back-to-School Monster Truck Bash on Saturday, Sept. 6 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  All proceeds from the race will benefit The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities.

Racers will pay a $20 entry fee to participate and the Nevada Contractor¿s Insurance Company has donated three electric pit scooters ¿ each valued at $200 ¿ for first-place prizes in each of the three categories.

¿The Nevada Contractor¿s Insurance Company is extremely pleased to support the fundraising efforts of The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children¿s Charities to help the children of southern Nevada,¿ said Program Administrator Ron Landram.

Matco Tools also has donated six diecast dragster replicas to serve as second and third-place prizes.  Randy Holly, The Strip's 2000 Super Pro champion, has donated three graphics packages from his company, Vegas Vinyl & Graphics.

¿The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children¿s Charities would like to thank Ron Landram and the Nevada Contractor¿s Insurance Company for their generous donation of the motorized scooters.  Ron, who also is an SCC LV board member, created and organized this event with only one thought in mind: to help children. We also would like to thank Chris Blair, LVMS¿ director of drag racing operations, for the opportunity to hold this event at the drag strip.  We are extremely pleased that the drag racers have stepped up to the plate to help the needy children of southern Nevada.¿

Speedway Children¿s Charities volunteers also will sell drawing tickets for door prizes at the event.
