NHRA, rock stars to appear at The Strip¿s Club Nitro Oct. 24-26;

List includes Tony Schumacher, John Force, Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Warren Johnson


Some of the biggest names in professional drag racing ¿ and rock ¿n¿ roll ¿ have committed to appear at Las Vegas Motor Speedway¿s Club Nitro hospitality tent during the third annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals at The Strip Oct. 24-26.


Club Nitro is a public hospitality area with meals served during set hours and driver appearances.


Twelve-time NHRA Funny Car champion John Force will kick off the festivities on Friday with an appearance at 5:15 p.m.  Joining Force will be 1999 NHRA Top Fuel Dragster champion Tony Schumacher and Pro Stock star George Marnell of Las Vegas.


Funny Car drivers Cruz Pedregon and Gary Densham will appear Saturday at 10:30 a.m.  POWERade Drag Racing Series 2003 NHRA Pro Stock champion Greg Anderson will appear at 2 p.m. with Funny Car ace Ron Capps and Pro Stock veteran Warren Johnson.


On Sunday, event grand marshals Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of the legendary rock group KISS will meet the fans at 9:30 a.m.


All drivers and personalities will participate in question-and-answer sessions that will be moderated by members of the speedway staff.


Club Nitro members will enjoy exclusive patio viewing near the starting line, a cash bar with discounted pricing, closed circuit television and private restrooms.


Club Nitro memberships are divided into two categories.  A Platinum Club Nitro membership is a three-day pass for the hospitality area and a four-day reserved seat in the upper (shaded) section of the grandstands.  Club Nitro memberships without grandstand tickets are $124 for a three-day membership, $25 for Friday only and $70 per day for Saturday or Sunday.  To purchase a Club Nitro membership, please call (702) 632-8254.
