AutoZone Super Chevy Show returns to The Strip at LVMS Nov. 21-23

The fourth annual AutoZone Super Chevy Show returns to The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Nov. 21-23. Last year, nearly 20,000 participants and spectators came to The Strip to celebrate everything Chevrolet, and with added attractions for the 2003 event, this year promises to be even bigger.

AutoZone Super Chevy Shows offer one of the most exciting professional shows in motorsports, featuring 230 mph ¿Nitro Coupes.¿  Exclusive to Super Chevy Shows, Nitro Coupes are powered by supercharged Chevrolet racing engines, burning $30-per-gal. nitromethane fuel. These are the world¿s fastest ¿doorslammer¿ drag racing machines.

Forty-foot flames, billowing smoke and sonic boom-like noise will mark the 300-mph JET CAR SHOOTOUT as the drivers ride a fountain of fire on the quarter mile track.

Bob Hall, a 30 ¿ year veteran of exhibition racing, will thrill the crowd with his wheelstanding Chevy Astro Mini Van, running the quarter-mile at 150 mph - on the rear wheels!

All professional and exhibition category racing will take place both Saturday and Sunday at Noon and 4:30 p.m.

Racing legend ¿Big Daddy¿ Don Garlits will be on hand to sign autographs and add color commentary to the ESPN2 television coverage of the event.

There are classes for Sportsman bracket racers that make it possible for every type of vehicle to race competitively, with large cash awards and national recognition for winners and runners-up. Weekend participants have the option to Test 'n' Tune on Friday from noon-5 p.m. for $25. There also is an optional Saturday bonus race with separate entry fee and purse.  Gates open at 10 a.m. Friday, 7 a.m. Saturday, and 8 a.m. Sunday.

AutoZone Super Chevy Shows include the largest single-make car show series in the world. The best Chevrolets and Chevrolet-powered vehicles from around the country and your hometown come to compete, making a trophy win at the AutoZone Super Chevy Show a highly sought after and prestigious recognition.

Many people come to AutoZone Super Chevy Shows to shop the vast Performance and Restoration Marketplace. There they will find the latest new parts and accessories, apparel and souvenirs. The swap meet is a gold mine of rare used parts, and vehicles are bought and sold in the car corral.

AutoZone Super Chevy Shows are open to any Chevrolet¿bodied or powered vehicle, and are the largest drag racing bracket series in the World. There are 20 events per year, with over 580,000 people through the gates in the 2002 season. For more information, check out www.superchevyshow.com.
