Steve Stevens, 40, of Henderson, lost his life in an accident in his garage Dec. 10. Stevens had been helping Strip competitor Gary Mazzone for the past two years and was building his own car to race. According to close friend Mazzone, Stevens also raced at the old strip in Las Vegas and was a crewman for NHRA Top Alcohol driver Duane Shields. Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 13, from 9-11 a.m. at Bunker's Mortuary at 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. The entire staff of Las Vegas Motor Speedway extends its condolences to his friends and family.
