The Bernstein family has cashed in at ¿The Strip¿ at Las Vegas Motor Speedway quite frequently.

Six-time NHRA champion Kenny Bernstein has won two of three outings at the Nationals, and he shared victory circle with son Brandon in 2001 when Brandon piloted an alcohol dragster to winner¿s circle the same day.  The Bernstein duo became the first father and son in NHRA¿s 50-year history to win their categories at the same national event, an accomplishment Kenny counts among his top two most cherished memories.

In Brandon¿s 2003 rookie season as pilot of the Budweiser/Lucas Oil Top Fuel dragster, he was a semifinalist at this event.

Having already notched a win in Phoenix, the second event of this year¿s tour, Brandon has proven he¿s found his groove following the accident that sidelined him for the last 15 races of the 2003 season and is looking forward to the Nationals April 1-4.

¿We¿re back 100 percent,¿ said Brandon.  ¿We may even be stronger than before because we¿re working at conditioning the upper body.

¿We¿re looking forward to racing in Las Vegas. We¿ve got a big battle going in the Top Fuel category and right now we¿re third in point standings.  There are five or six of us that are breathing down each other¿s necks and each race has the potential of reshuffling the deck as far as points go.

¿We had a tough weekend in Gainesville going out in the first round with a red light, and we¿re looking to get back on the road to redemption.  Tim (Richards) and the team have had a handle on the tune-up. We think Vegas is our kind of track.¿
