B&M Hedman Series and The Strip at LVMS to host largest super class purse ever at Super Class World Championships

February 18-20, 2005.

The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the B&M Hedman Series will host the richest super class event ever for super class racers Feb. 18-20, 2005.  The Strip¿s three-day event will pay $10,000 to win Friday night, $20,000 to Saturday night¿s winner and $10,000 to win again on Sunday.  Two separate classes will be contested with an 8.90 index class Super Comp category and a 9.90 index Super Gas class.  Both classes will compete for $10,000, $20,000, and $10,000 to win each day in their respective class.

¿We are proud to present this rich event with our friends at B&M Hedman,¿ said Chris Blair, LVMS¿ senior director of drag racing operations.  ¿This lucrative race falls between the NHRA¿s national events at Pomona and Phoenix, and many of the top racers in the country will be in the area.  I think you¿ll see an amazing field of Super Gas and Super Comp racers in our pits for this high-paying drag race.¿

"The west coast has some of the best super class racers in the country,¿ said B&M Hedman promoter A.J. Ashe.  ¿This event will showcase only them and we believe it will become one of those races that everyone will mark on their calendar as an annual event.  This event will be different from others since it will be open to the first 200 entries in both Super Comp and Super Gas.  Buybacks will be limited to the first round.  Racers must be pre-entered to compete.  We currently are currently working on sponsors and additional prizes for the event.  Chris Blair and his team at The Strip are excellent to work with.¿

Additional information and entry blanks will be released soon.
