NHRA driver Gilbertson makes donation to Speedway Children¿s Charities

Bob Gilbertson, driver of the Autolite XP/Prestone Funny Car, has made a significant donation to Speedway Children¿s Charities.

Gilbertson, who will compete at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the April 14-17 NHRA Summitracing.com Nationals, made the donation to make amends for an incident that occurred during a testing session in February.

¿Bob Gilbertson is one of the top racers on the NHRA circuit, but during our test session, he made a serious error in judgment that put several lives and property in danger,¿ said LVMS general manager Chris Powell. ¿We have had several discussions with Bob, and he seriously regrets the situation. He has made a very generous contribution to Speedway Children¿s Charities as a way of showing his regret for the incident.

¿We are looking forward to having Bob and the rest of the stars of the NHRA back here competing April 14-17 in the first of our two national events.¿
