Rain halts Jerry¿s Nugget Championship Drag Racing Series at The Strip;

Race No. 3 to be completed during race No. 4 on Saturday, May 7

A storm hit The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway at 9 p.m. tonight, forcing race officials to postpone the remainder of the third points race of the Jerry¿s Nugget Championship Drag Racing Series. Eliminations were under way and Randy Holly was set to race Ron Landram when the rain, lightning and wind hit the track.

Tonight¿s race will be completed on Saturday, May 4, in conjunction with race No. 4 of the Jerry¿s Nugget Championship Drag Racing Series. All cars remaining in competition will receive one time-trail run at 4 p.m. Remaining elimination rounds will be run in conjunction with time trials.

Street and Pro categories will be laddered based on the last round of eliminations. Super Pro will be laddered following the outcome of the Landram-Holly race and Jeremy Rapp¿s bye run. All cars will need to purchase an entry into the May 7 event.

Glenn Snow (Pro), Troy Cooley (Super Pro), Dave Phillips (Motorcycle), Claudia Horsley (Street) and Bill Dudley (Sport Compact) earned $25 Jerry¿s Nugget Casino gift certificates for posting the best reaction time on a winning run in the first round of eliminations.

Rain also caused the cancellation of Motorcycle Madness, scheduled to begin after bracket racing.
