Jerry's Nugget Championship Drag Racing Series Pajama Party Classic at The Strip won by Phillips, Phillips, Moudree, Sewell and Dudley

The second annual Jerry's Nugget Championship Drag Racing Series Pajama Party Classic at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is now history.

On a night when the thermometer plummeted to 100 degrees at midnight, Ken Phillips of Las Vegas won the Super Pro finale over Chris Naffziger.  The night's racing started later to compensate for day's high temperatures, which reached 116 at The Strip.

Bob Moudree of Las Vegas scored the Pro victory by defeating Jim Heaton.

Kayla Sewell of Henderson won the final round of Street competition over Walter Shupe of Las Vegas.

Dave Phillips of Las Vegas claimed the Motorcycle title when he defeated Monty Aldrich of Henderson in the final round.

Bill Dudley of Las Vegas defeated Lance Johnson for Sport Compact honors.

In addition to trophies and prize money, all final-round winners also received LVMS bathrobes and teddy bears.  Race fans dressed in pajamas were admitted at a discount.

Jerry's Nugget Reaction Time Bonus Awards were won by Leo Shaver (Motorcycle), Jason Kenzevich (Super Pro), Steve Bushey (Pro), Sam Rendon (Street) and Eric Sager (Sport Compact).  The award is won by turning in the best reaction time on a winning run during the first round of eliminations.

The next event at The Strip at LVMS is a Test 'n' Tune session, followed by BFGoodrich Midnight Mayhem on Friday, July 22, at 6 p.m.  For more information, please call The Strip at LVMS at (702) 632-8213 or visit www.lvms.com or www.lvmsstrip.com online.
