2006 Las Vegas Bracket Championship Kickoff at The Strip

Jan. 27-29;

1/8-mile drag racing features $2,500-to-win Super Pro category

 

 

            The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will present its first race of the 2006 season - The Las Vegas Bracket Championship Kickoff - on Jan. 27-29.  The three-day weekend begins on Friday, Jan. 27, with tech inspection and a Test 'n' Tune session for all entries.  Racing begins Saturday, Jan. 28, at 9 a.m. and continues with a second complete program on Sunday, Jan. 29, at 9 a.m.  The Super Pro category will pay $2,500 to the winner on both Saturday and Sunday.  The Super Pro winner's share will double to $5,000 each day if more than 100 cars are entered in the first round of eliminations. 


Friday, January 27 -- All racing will be contested on 1/8th mile.
9 a.m. -- Gates open.
9 a.m.-5 p.m. -- Tech inspection.
11 a.m.-5 p.m. -- Test 'n' Tune ($60 per car).

Saturday, January 28 -- All racing will be contested on 1/8th mile.
7 a.m. -- Gates open.
9 a.m. -- Time trials.
Noon -- Run-for-the-Money.
1 p.m. - Eliminations begin.

4 p.m. -- High-Roller Gambler.

Sunday, January 29 -- All racing will be contested on 1/8th mile.
7 a.m. -- Gates open.
9 a.m. -- Time trial.
10:30 a.m. -- Run-for-the-Money.
Noon - Eliminations.

 

High-Roller Gambler: $500 to enter with 100% of entry fees paid back. Winner receives 50%, runner-up is paid 25% and Semi-finalists each get 12.5% (in the event of odd semi, the money will be split among all three positions). First-round buybacks are $100. Track retains buybacks. Cash or blank money order for entry.



Run-for-the-Money: Guarantees $600 to win Super Pro, $400 to win Pro and $200 to win Sportsman (each day).

Super Pro purse (Saturday and Sunday):
Win: $2,500*
Runner-up: $750
Semi-final: $300
Quarter-finals: $100
*Purse increases to $5,000 to win if more than 100 cars in first round of eliminations.
Two-day entry fee: $150
One-day entry fee: $100
Buybacks: $60

Pro Purse (Saturday and Sunday):
Win: $1,000*
Runner-up: $300
Semi-final: $150
Quarter-finals: $75

Buybacks: $40

Sportsman Purse (Saturday and Sunday):
Win: $200
Runner-up: $100
