Colt gallops to Jerry's Nugget Series Super Pro win at The Strip;

Harris, Vosburg and Newport also score bracket wins at LVMS


            LAS VEGAS - Colt Dwyer of Palmdale, Calif., won the Jerry's Nugget Championship Drag Racing Series Super Pro finale over Jimmy Lintz of Las Vegas Saturday night at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Dwyer's 2005 Undercover dragster went 7.747 sec./174.17 mph.  The race began and ended at the starting line when Lintz fouled ("red-lit").

            Robin Harris of Las Vegas scored the Pro category win by defeating Boulder City's John Irving.

            Larry Vosburg won the Sportsman category finale over Kyle Hirschi.

            Rick Newport won the Motorcycle final over Dave Phillips.

            The Sport Compact category was not contested (less than the madatory four entries appeared).

Jerry's Nugget Reaction Time Bonus Awards were earned by Trevor Rankin (Pro), Mike Reff (Super Pro), Dave Phillips (Motorcycle) and Ashleigh Ozuna (Sportsman). The award is won by posting the best reaction time on a winning run during the first round of eliminations.

The West Coast Corvette Challenge was won by Michael Villenoeva (Fallbrook, Calif.) over Jim Ranney (Las Vegas).

John Randell (Henderson) defeated Vanessa Hodges (Las Vegas) for Short Line Express Market NHRA Jr. Dragster Series honors in the Thunder category Saturday morning. Colton Valandingham of Kingman, Ariz., claimed top honors in the Lightning class by defeating Shyann Desa of Las Vegas in the final round.
