Hodges, Craig share Short Line Express Jr. Dragster spotlight

 

            The sixth round of the 2006 Jerry's Nugget Championship Drag Racing Series was contested at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Adam Burnham of Henderson won the Super Pro finale, defeating Joe Niswonger of Las Vegas.  Bill Culver of N. Las Vegas defeated Ricky Gray for the Pro title, Sam Rendon won the Sportsman final and Leo Shaver won his second consecutive Motorcycle trophy.

            Jerry's Nugget Reaction-Time Bonus Awards were won by Robin Harris (Pro), Jimmy Lintz (Super Pro), Lonnie Woodruff (Motorcycle) and Ron Winters (Sportsman). The award is earned by posting the best reaction time on a winning run during the first round of eliminations.

            On Saturday afternoon, Tristan Craig defeated Kayla Sewell for the Lightning title and Vanessa Hodges took advantage of Cody Topol's red light to earn the Thunder division win in Short Line Express Markets NHRA Jr. Dragster competition.

            PLEASE NOTE: Race times have been adjusted for the seventh round of the Jerry;s Nugget Championship Drag Racing Series on Saturday, June 10.  Gates will open and tech inspection will begin at 5 p.m.  Time trials will start at 7 p.m., with eliminations beginning approximately at 10 p.m.
