NHRA announces 2007 national event dates for Las Vegas Motor Speedway

For the seventh consecutive year the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will host two NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series events. The 2007 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series schedule, released today, contained some minor changes from the 2006 NHRA dates at LVMS.

The NHRA SummitRacing.com Nationals will be held April 12-15, 2007, one week later than this past April's event. The NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals are scheduled for Oct. 18-21 for 2007 - a week earlier than this year's event.

"Today's announced schedule changes are good for The Strip," said Chris Powell, LVMS general manager. "The spring event was moved one week so that it does not conflict with the Easter holiday. Although these are not radical date changes, these modifications should allow us to enhance drag racing's premier series and the events at the world's greatest drag strip."

LVMS is preparing for the NHRA's penultimate event of the 2006 season Oct. 26-29. Tight points races in all four professional categories could be decided at the NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals. Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased by calling 1-800-644-4444 or visiting www.LVMS.com online.
