The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will close its 2006 drag racing season on Friday evening from 7 p.m.-Midnight with the final round of BFGoodrich Midnight Mayhem.

Now in its fifth year, BFGoodrich Midnight Mayhem is The Strip's safe alternative to illegal street racing.

Entry fee is $10 to race, $5 for spectators. Midnight Mayhem is open to any street-legal car or motorcycle and is open to any licensed driver with proof of insurance (minors must present a signed parental consent form, available by calling The Strip's office at 632-8213).

Racers are encouraged to make as many passes down the drag strip as they like.  The evening includes DJs and a car show. Alcohol is not allowed and beer is not sold at The Strip during Midnight Mayhem.

The popular program will return in 2007.
