Carl Cannavo of N. Las Vegas defeated Glen Copley of Las Vegas to win the Super Pro finale in the Jerry's Nugget Championship Drag Racing Series at The Strip.

John Irving of Boulder City defeated Joe Yalich for Pro honors.

John Phlegar Jr. of Las Vegas defeated Richard Harris (also of Las Vegas) for the Sportsman class win. With a damaged engine in his own Super Pro Corvette, Phlegar borrowed his father's car to compete in the Sportsman class instead.

Rick Newport of West Valley, Utah, defeated Kahea Woods of Las Vegas in the Motorcycle class.

Jon Irving of Boulder City won the High School class over Las Vegas' Ian Perri.

On Saturday afternoon, the April 19 make-up race for the Super Pro class (the race was postponed due to high winds) was won by Rob Dawson of N. Las Vegas over Glen Copley.

Henderson's John Randell won the Jr. Dragster Thunder final over Alyssa Franz of N. Las Vegas.

Jr. Dragster Lightning top honors were claimed by Las Vegas' Tristan Craig over Kevin Avery of Chandler, Ariz.

Cody Parsons of Monroe, Utah, won the Jr. Dragster Novice class by defeating Jessica Payne of Henderson in the final round of eliminations.

Saturday night's Jerry's Nugget Reaction-Time Bonus Awards were won by Bob Coulter (Pro), John Dowd (Sportsman), Jay Matthews (Motorcycle) and Rick Emanuel (Sportsman).  The award is earned by posting the best reaction time on a winning run in the first round of eliminations.

The Bud Light Awards were earned by Bob Coulter (Pro), John Dowd (Super Pro) and Rick Emanuel (Sportsman).

Saturday's race marked the return to competition by Super Pro racer Joe Niswonger of Las Vegas.  Niswonger suffered a heart attack on May 1. Niswonger was winning rounds in the Super Pro class Saturday night but his car broke and he was unable to continue.
