The local E.T. bracket series at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway has a new title sponsor: Wicked HP. The 11-race series will be known as the Wicked HP E.T. Bracket Championship Series and will carry a year-end points fund of $11,000, in addition to a variety of bonus programs throughout the season. The series kicks off March 14-15 at The Strip at LVMS.

Wicked HP, a new, high-performance engine building facility, is located at 6160 North Hollywood Blvd., Suite 101, in the industrial park adjacent to LVMS.

Wicked HP is operated by local country music and motorsports impresario Stoney Gray, who also owns two nightclubs: Stoney's Rockin' Country on S. Las Vegas Blvd. and Stoney's North Forty (inside the Santa Fe Hotel & Casino).

"We are excited to have Stoney and his new high-performance engine shop, Wicked HP, join The Strip's E.T. bracket championship program," said Chris Blair, LVMS's vice president of racing operations. "Our points fund is now bigger than ever before and this presents a tremendous opportunity for the growth of the sport locally.  Stoney will also be running several promotions at the drag strip with his nightclubs and we will also be working closely with him to attract his audience to our races."

In addition to the $11,000 Wicked HP year-end points fund, competitors in the Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Motorcycle classes will be eligible for bonus awards in two LVMS-exclusive programs.  The Sierra Ice Cool-Move-Of-The-Night Award will pay $25 to the driver in each category that is closest to his dial-in on a winning run during eliminations.  In addition, the Nevada Beverage-sponsored Bud-Light-Best-Light-Of-The-Night Award will present $100 and a case of Bud Light to the racer with the best reaction time in eliminations during the event.
