Rick Schmidt's victory in the Magnafuel Outlaw 10.5 class highlighted a weekend of action at the Pacific Street Car Association MagnaFuel Vegas Nationals March 20-22 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Schmidt, of Dickinson, N.D., defeated No. 1 qualifier Doug Sikora of Hesperia, Calif., in his 2011 Mustang with a time of 4.69 seconds at 160.29 mph. Schmidt qualified fourth in the class.

Orland, Calif., driver Casey Van Tol piloted his 1964 Chevelle past Anthony Smith of Los Angeles in the Vortech Outlaw 8.5 class with a time of 5.86 seconds at 125 mph, while David Singletary of Surprise, Ariz., out-dueled Temecula, Calif., racer James Lawrence in the Magnafuel XDR/TT5 division.

Las Vegas drivers picked up four wins, with Jake Evans taking the Ross Racing Triple Index class and Ken Spears (Goodyear Open Comp), Matt Hardy (Brodix Bracket 1) and George Mattie (Calvert Street Muscle) also winning their divisions.

Other champions were: George Raygoza (Orland, Calif.) in Mickey Thompson Wild Street; Rick Hatch (Riverside, Calif.) in Procharger 235 Limited; Doug Carter (Henderson, Nev.) in Edelbrock Super Index; Paul Wolfe (Hemet, Calif.) in Mustang Madness; and Emma Deuschle (Palmdale, Calif.) in juniors.
