Antron Brown beat Brandon Bernstein off the line in the Top Fuel final and held on to win the 12th annual NHRA Nationals on Sunday at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Brown's winning run was 3.887 seconds at 318.84 mph while Bernstein was clocked at 3.947 seconds at 311.13 mph.

Robert Hight (Funny Car) and Mike Edwards (Pro Stock) also won their professional categories.

Brown, who was the No. 5 qualifier, earned his 10th national-event win in Top Fuel and his first at The Strip.

Hight, the No. 3 qualifier, nipped Johnny Gray by approximately 10 feet with a pass of 4.149 seconds at 307.79 mph. Gray, the No. 13 qualifier, turned in a run of 4.169 seconds at 301.81 mph. It was Hight’s second win of the season and 20th of his career.

In the closest final of the afternoon, Edwards edged Vincent Nobile by a scant 0.0079 seconds - or about 2 feet. Edwards ran a 6.695 at 205.98 to Nobile’s 6.713 at 205.69 to capture his first win of the season and 29th of his career.
