Revised 2011 Wicked HP Championship E.T. Bracket Series for The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

The 2011 Wicked HP Bracket Series will consist of 10 races. Participant’s eight best finishes will count toward the title. In the event that a race meet is cancelled for any reason, the race will not be re-scheduled and an adjustment will be made to the points program at the sole discretion of the track director.

JUNE
4 – Wicked HP Bracket Series (Race No. 2).
5 – Wicked HP Bracket Series (Race No. 3).
18 – Wicked HP Bracket Series (Race No. 4).

JULY
9 – Wicked HP Bracket Series (Race No. 5).

AUGUST
13 – Wicked HP Bracket Series (Race No. 6).
27 – Wicked HP Bracket Series (Race No. 7).

SEPTEMBER
3 – Wicked HP Bracket Series (Race No. 8)
4 – Wicked HP Bracket Series (Race No. 9)

OCTOBER
22 – Wicked HP Bracket Series (Race No. 10)

Super Pro Bracket (S/PRO)
7.00-12.20 sec. dial-in.
.5 full tree.
Optional staging.
Electronics (throttle stops, delay boxes) permitted.
Compulink Cross-Talk will be used.

Pro Bracket (PRO)
7.00-14.50 sec. dial-ins.
.5 full tree.
Optional staging.
No electronic devices permitted.
Transbrake and line-lock permitted.

Sportsman Bracket (SPT)
12.00-21.00 sec. dial-ins.
.5 full tree.
Optional staging.
No electronic devices.
Muffler(s) required.

E.T. Motorcycle (MC)
7.50-15.99 sec. dial-ins.
.4 pro tree.
Optional staging.
No electronics (throttle stops, delay boxes) permitted.
Also open to INEX Legend Cars, ATVs and snowmobiles.

Tow Vehicles: Not permitted in Pro and Sportsman once the car has reached the back of the staging lanes. Cars are permitted to tow back to their pits once they have exited the track.

Points participation: All drivers must sign up for participation in the The Strip at LVMS’ points program and pay the $40 program membership registration fee before any points will be counted toward the 2011 championship.  There is no grace period to sign up for points. Points tally begins when registration form is submitted.

Banquet awards: The top five finishers in each category will receive an award and one ticket to the 2011 awards banquet. The champion in each category will receive a trophy, jacket, gold card and two tickets to the 2011 awards banquet.

NHRA King of the Track: The Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Motorcycle winners from Saturday, Aug. 27 will face off against the 2010 LVMS track champions on Saturday, Sept. 3 in eliminations contested during time trials to determine the 2011 King of the Track.

NHRA National Dragster Challenge: Each class winner will receive an NHRA “Wally” trophy on Sunday, Sept. 4. at the season-ending event.

Free race: The Strip at LVMS will host a free race on Saturday, Dec. 3 for any racer who participates in at least five of the 10 scheduled Wicked HP Bracket Series events.  The awards banquet will be held later that evening.

High School Drag Racing Series

The High School Drag Racing Series will be contested along with the Wicked HP Bracket Series on the dates listed below. A total of five events are scheduled. A racer’s best four finishes in the five races will determine the champion. The top four point-finishers will represent The Strip at LVMS in the NHRA Division 7 E.T. Finals. In an effort to encourage participation in the program, High School class racers will be eligible to compete – in the same car – in one additional program on the nights their class is contested.

May 7 – Race No. 1.
May 21 – Race No. 2.
June 4 – Race No. 3.
June 18 – Race No. 4.
Sept. 3 – Race No. 5.

High School
12.00-24.99 sec. (12.00 is the absolute limit – cars exceeding 12.00 will receive one warning before being ejected.
.5 full tree – optional staging.
No electronics unless OEM equipped.
Conventional four-wheeled vehicles utilizing a daily-driver configuration.
No motorcycles, ATVs, dune buggies, Altereds or dragsters.
Not necessary for vehicle to be licensed or insured.
DOT or OEM tires accepted.
Muffler(s) required. Exhaust must run through mufflers.
Driver must possess a current and valid state-issued operator’s license.

Point distribution: Wicked HP Series points will be distributed as follows:
16 points to compete in the first round of eliminations.
10 points for each round win during race eliminations.
5 bonus points for the race elimination winner.
2 bonus points for the race elimination runner-up.
Any driver who breaks prior to first round of eliminations will receive 6 points after passing tech inspection.

Tie-breakers:
First tie-breaker will be based on total number of round wins in the 9 scored races.
Second tie-breaker will be based on total number of points scored in all 10 events.
Third tie-breaker will be based on total number of final-round wins.
Fourth tie-breaker will be total number of runner-up finishes.
Fifth tie-breaker will be total number of semi-final appearances.

2011 awards banquet: The 2011 drag strip banquet will be held in the Neon Garage inside the 1.5-mile superspeedway on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011. Dinner will begin at 7 p.m. with awards at 8 p.m.

Standard Saturday night (and Sunday, Sept. 4) schedule: May 7, May 21, June 4, June 18, Aug. 27, Sept. 3 and Sunday, Sept. 4.

3 p.m. – Pit gates, tech inspection open.
4:30 p.m. – Guest class cars begin time trials.

4:45 p.m.
Wicked HP Series class cars called to lanes (run order: Pro, Super Pro, Motorcycle and Sportsman).
Time trial.
Optional Run-for-the-Money.
Second time trial.
First round of eliminations.
Program continues until complete (approximate end-time is 10:30 p.m.).
