The 2011 edition of the Super Chevy Show at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway now is history. For fans of the General Motors brand, it was sensory overload as Bel Airs,  Camaros, 210s, Monte Carlos, El Caminos, Corvairs, Impalas, Chevelles, “shoeboxes,” trucks, Vegas, pre-war coupes and specialty vehicles of all types converged at the quarter-mile.

Carl Cannavo of N. Las Vegas scored twice in final-round eliminations at the drag strip and old favorite Ed Thornton returned to the Pro Street wars after a lengthy absence. Thornton lost to Mike Maggio in the Pro Street final. On Saturday, Maggio became the first Pacific Street Car Association (PSCA) Pro Street racer to break the five-second barrier. The new PSCA record was set during the final qualifying session of the Super Chevy Show. Maggio's 1970 Camaro ran 5.973 sec./245.54 mph. The car is equipped with a 451 cu. in. Brad Anderson Enterprises engine.

On Saturday, autocross winners included: Todd Aikes (Experienced), Adrian Mancilla (Spectre Performance Novice) and Valerie Pichette (Ladies). The autocross was sponsored by Toyo Tires, Wilwood, Currie Enterprises and Total Cost Involved.
