Hey race fans! I can't believe the summer break is almost over! It seems like just yesterday that we were at the Annual Night of Fire.
I am looking forward to getting back in the flagstand on August 15th at the Bullring and then checking out the Junior Dragsters Labor Day Weekend at The Strip.
The juniors just got back from the 2009 NHRA Western Conference Finals in Denver, Colo. I went to this event last year and had a great time. This year I stayed in Vegas, but kept getting updates regularly. A team of 11 juniors made the trek to Denver and from what I heard, had a great time. DJ Henderson came back with a quarter-finalist trophy and the entire team came back with the highly coveted Team Spirit Award. Congratulations to all of the juniors, parents and supporters for a great Denver trip!
Well, just a couple of more weeks and it's back to racing at LVMS. I'll take the time to rest up and get ready for the rest of the 2009 race season at both tracks. I look forward to seeing everyone out on August 15th for Keith Danser Kid's Candy Toss Night. It will be a great night of racing!
Take care and as always...
See ya at the races!
Hi race fans. Hope your summer is treating you well. NASCAR is less than two months away from the Chase for the 2009 Sprint Cup championship, but Las Vegas Motor Speedway is already looking ahead to 2010.
We don't have a confirmed date for 2010, but our "working date" is Feb. 28 for the NASCAR Sprint Cup event and Feb. 27 for the Sam's Town 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race.
But the biggest news is that we have reduced the price of all our Weekend Packages and Sunday-only tickets for the 2010 event. In fact, you can watch the Sprint Cup race for just $48. That's cheapest ticket ever offered for a Sprint Cup event at LVMS. And you won't have to wait much longer to get these great deals. Tickets go on sale Aug. 17. Between a strong renewal period and these lower prices, we look for tickets to go fast once Aug. 17 arrives.
We also made a dramatic reduction in price for Neon Garage passes. If you haven't been to the Neon Garage, it's a must-stop for any true race fan when coming to Las Vegas. Not only can you get closer to the drivers and teams than at any speedway, but we have continuous live entertainment, specialty concessions and the Winner's Circle in the Neon Garage.
Don't forget that we still have a full plate of racing this fall with races at the Bullring and The Strip as well as the Las Vegas 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event Sept. 26 and the NHRA Las Vegas Nationals Oct. 29-Nov. 1.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and we'll see you at the races.
Hey race fans! I can't believe that it is already time for the annual Night of Fire!. The evening will be jammed pack with great racing, jetcars burning other cars and fireworks, that the action will be nothing short of non-stop!
Come one, come all and join us for this one-of-a-kind special night of racing. If you've joined us before, you know what I'm talking about.
This is my favorite night of the season! If you have other plans, be safe and have a wonderful Fourth of July weekend. If you are looking for something to do, come on out.
Gates open at 5 p.m. for qualifying and the national anthem will kick everything off at 7 p.m. We are running what I call the "super cool" cars (Supermodifieds with wings). They are so wicked-fast it's crazy! I can't wait!
Have a great Fourth of July celebration, stay safe and hopefully I'll see you tomorrow night at our annual Night of Fire race event!!
As always, see ya at the races.
