Racer's Blog

Hi everyone!

I'm so happy its summer! School is out, I get to sleep in and go swimming in this heat! Softball season also is about to start and I'm super excited. I love playing softball just as much as I love being on the track .

I'm living the life! Besides racing each week, we get to go the the lake every other weekend. Summer came so fast. It feels like just yesterday it was New Years Day.

I'm second in points right now and hopefully I'll win the championship. I've been doing pretty well this year, but earlier in the year there was something wrong with my car. It didn't have as much power as last year for some reason, but we got it all fixed up and it's ready now. So this weekend, those boys better watch out! (: I'm so excited for the upcoming Night of Fire at the Bullring! It's my favorite race of the year! I won it last year, so let's hope I can do it again.

Hope to see you all there!

Racing season is finally back at the Bullring! I have been staying busy during the off-season playing fast pitch softball at school. This is my first year and it is a lot of fun, but not as fun as racing! So far, we have won all of our games!

For me, the first race of the year was not a very happy one.  My car was running great and I qualified third, but when the green flag dropped, my transponder wasn't working.  I had to go off of the track to get a new one. They had to restart the race but I wasn't allowed to get back into the race.  I don't really know the reason for that, but that's my Aunt Donna's job!

Congratulations to Rachel in the Young Guns for winning two races in a row, but I do have to cheer for my teammate, Amanda. Those two are fun to watch on the track.  My little friend Kayle in the Bandits is doing so well and I know she is going to win a race this year. It will be an exciting season for all of us.

That's all for now! See you at the races!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I definitely did!

The two weeks I had off of school sure went by  fast. I did a lot of traveling during the break. I went to my aunt Chauny's house in Moapa, my grandpa's in Kingman, and my aunt Donna, and Wayne took me to Phoenix.

It was my friend Amanda's birthday during the break, so her parents had a birthday and New Year's Eve party combo for her. Her dad rented a party bus that drove around and picked up all her friends, then we went to this huge arcade place and had a party. After stopping at the arcade, we took the party bus back to her house to celebrate New Year's with all the parents. We finally went to bed around 4 a.m.

There are just two more months until racing starts and I can hardly wait!  It seems like Aunt Donna is always finding something to work on to improve my Legend car.  I hope this is going to be a happy New Year for everyone!!!   See you at the track in March!

Hello! How is everyone's week going?

My week has been pretty much amazing. I've been doing really well in school and I got to see all of my friends over the weekend. The only disapointment I had was that I didn't get to go to Havasu and race. But, my car wasn't finished from the last race and was not in shape to race. It's okay though, there are always other races. If it weren't for my wonderful Aunt Donna and my Uncle Wayne and friends working their butts off every night trying to get everything fixed and ready to race, I don't know what I would do. I am really glad I have someone that would do all of that for me so that I can race and do what I love.

I can't wait until winter break gets here this Friday! Then, I'm on my way to Moapa to visit my aunt, then to Arizona to visit my grandpa for Christmas. After traveling to Arizona, I'm going to my racing partner Amanda Gubler's house and staying up there for the rest of the break, including celebrating New Year's with her. I'm going to be doing a lot of stuff this break and will be really busy. Hopefully the holiday is a good one. I hope everyone has a FANTASTIC Christmas!

The 2008 Bullring Banquet

Monday, November 24, 2008

Hi Everyone!

Well I told you I  was going to try out Aunt Donna's Late Model at Lake Havasu and I did.  it was way fun!! I definitely need to get used to the car and get some more seat time.

The Bullring Banquet was Saturday night at Sam's Town Hotel and Casino. The food was good but iI was just too excited to eat too much!  What fun!  Everyone looked so different wearing something besides their driver suit and helmet. Some drivers that I don't know that well I didn't even regonize out of their cars until I heard their name.

There was a lot of girls racing this year. When i first started racing at the Bullring, I was the only girl who was racing in Bandoleros! But, that makes racing them even more exciting.

I'm going to Dumont this weekend for Thanksgiving and I am so excited! I hope everyone had a great weekend and has a happy Thanksgiving!

What are we going to do?  Racing is over for the winter!!  That makes me sad. What are all of you going to do?  Work on your cars and dream about next season, I guess.

We still have some racing going on this upcoming weekend which will be a lot of fun.

Last weekend I went with my aunt Donna, Wayne and Victor to Phoenix, Ariz. for the truck races. We got to visit my Aunt Kelly and some of my other family members. We all went to my teammate, Amanda's house and had a big barbeque. After the barbeque, we went to the go-cart track. We all had so much fun, but I do have to say that I like my legend a lot better!  This Sunday, Aunt Donna is taking me to Lake Havasu where they are going to let me try out her late model. Of course, I will be the only car on the track... thank goodness! On my next entry I will let you know how I did.

Have a nice Thanksgiving, Cheyanne

Back to School

Friday, September 5, 2008

School has already started back up and I am already busy! I was a little unprepared a couple of days before school started. I found out that my school requires uniforms as part of the dress code. I was definitely not ready for that! But, thankfully, my Grandma had everything that I needed. The first few days were a little tough because I was still trying to get around the school and find all of my classes. After the first week, I was already back in the swing of things. It was a little tough during the first week, but now I feel like I have been there forever! I'm lucky because most of my friends are in my classes so that makes the school day more fun. Sometime's it's tough balancing school and racing on the weekends, especially with homework. I know that if I have homework due during the weekend, I have to get it done right away because the weekend will be busy at the track.

I look forward to the weekends and just love going out on the track. It's like a second home to me, even when I'm not racing. I like to go out and visit everyone and see how they are doing.

A lot of people will sit and watch a race and think that it is so simple just going around in a circle, but it is way more difficult than that! As a racer, you have to know when to break, when to slam the gas, when to shift and so much more. It is definitely more than just going around that track. If you've been around a track before, you know what I'm talking about.

I love the sport and I love spending time racing and hanging out with my friends and family. Even though I'm busy, especially now that school has started, I love racing and I don't think there is anything else I would like to do more in my spare time. It's in my blood!

Hi everyone!

Now that racing is back at the Bullring each weekend, I'll give you a quick update on what I've been doing during the break. During the break, I worked with my friend John on my new car! I've been working on a new car after my last really big wreck on July 3rd at the Night of Fire at the Bullring. We've put a lot of hard work into the new car and I hope it's a fast one! I wouldn't be racing right now if it wasn't for John. I really appreciate everything he does for me.

The new car will also have a brand new paint job thanks to my Aunt Donna and Jerry. I'm very excited about the new look.

It's going to be pretty tough going out on the track and not knowing what this new car will be doing since I haven't ever driven it. But, hopefully it won't take long to get used to it on the track.

My Uncle Wayne has been taking a lot of his time to work with me to help me improve my racing. He has been telling me what I need to do and be working on to get ready for my next race.

When I wasn't working on my car, I was hanging out with my best friend Brianna. Even though she's my best friend, she's also my competitor on the track. She races the #2 Legend. Both of us are racing in the Legends class for the first time this year and we have improved so much. I'm very proud of her, and she's proud of me too! People never expected us to be such good friends off of the track but we are. My Dad even sees her as one of his own children.

My birthday is coming up in a few days and I am very excited. I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing to celebrate, but an idea will come to me sooner or later.

I really appreciate what everyone has been doing for me to help me out. This year has been one of the best. Thank you to everyone, especially my fans. I couldn't race with the confidence I have if it wasn't for them!

Cheyanne

Hi. My name is Cheyanne Schindler and I am 14 years old. I have been involved with racing for four years now. I got into racing because my family has raced for a long time and I decided to give it a try!

I love racing and once I started, I could never get it out of my mind. All I wanted to do is get on that track and race. I lost my mom when I was 12 and I miss her sitting in the bleachers cheering me on. I miss her dearly and wish she could be here right now.

I race the No. 88 Semi-Pro Legends Car, sponsored by: Thomson Motorsports, Rolling Thunder Motorsports, Foxy Construction., Paint by Wiebe, Chris Clyne Motorsports, Route 66 Lounge, Al Budd Racing, Chuck Trickle, CT Power, Surf City Bar & Grill, David and Cathy Spaine and Canyon Electric.

This past week I visited my teammate and best friend, Amanda Gubler in Peoria, Ariz.  I have known Amanda for three years and I've never had a friend as close as her. Amanda was racing Bandoleros a year ago, crashed and hit the wall pretty hard. She broke her leg but she's brave enough to get back in a car. She is now racing my old Bandolero, the No. 88, since I moved up to legends.

This week, I've been getting ready to race at the July 3rd Night of Fire at the Bullring.  The Night of Fire is my favorite race because they have the most exciting themes going on. I have never raced on July 3rd because they never have Bandoleros race in it.  But now, since I'm racing in Legends Cars, I'm going to be in it. I'm very excited to be racing it!

This 4th of July, I'm going over to Jonathan Eakin's house (the No. 44 Bandolero Bandit driver) and we are going to have a huge BBQ and relax. I can't wait!
