It took the FASTMotorsports/Extreme Speed Pro Street drag racing team no more than 6.60 seconds to prove why they are the 3 time champions in the Pacific Street Car Association Hughes Performance Pro Street Category. During the make-up for the rain delayed February event, team driver Ed Thornton made very consistent runs of 6.59 221.60 mph, 6.60 222.25 mph, 6.57 222.99 mph and 6.53 220.62 miles per hour to take the win and reset his one race old PSCA Pro Street "Extreme Speed" record of 219 which he set at the last event in Phoenix in March. The victory was overshadowed however when good friend and nemesis Clint Hairston and his Patriot Exhaust systems sponsored twin turbo camaro narrowly escaped injury as his car veered violently into Thornton's lane making contact with the guardwall during the final round.
