Sam¿s Town 300 Event Preview

Las Vegas Motor Speedway

March 6, 2004

After a two week respite from NASCAR Busch Series racing, Paul Wolfe is ready to get to ¿the City of Lights¿ and prove what he can do in a race car.  After an accident during qualifying caused him to miss making the field in Rockingham two weeks ago, the driver has had time to process what happened and get focused on the future.

¿While part of you wants to beat yourself up about it, the other part of you knows you have to move on and start focusing on how to achieve your next goal,¿ said Wolfe. ¿In my case that is Las Vegas.  I have had a couple of phone calls from fellow Busch Series drivers that have been very encouraging.  It is nice to know that others know exactly how you feel and can help you through the rough times.  I have also had calls from my sponsors, Ragu®, Country Crock® and Hellmann¿s®, who wanted to let me know that I have their support.  That was so important to me and has turned into a big motivator going into this weekend¿s event.¿

Last race for Wolfe in the No. 6 Hungry Drivers Dodge: This is the third and final race for Wolfe in the No. 6 Hungry Drivers¿ Dodge for the 2004 season.  Tracy Hines is the next driver in line to try prove himself as the front runner in the Hungry Drivers¿ program.  Hines will debut in the No. 6 Hungry Drivers¿Hellmann¿s Dodge in Texas Motor Speedway on April 3.

Driver, Paul Wolfe on Las Vegas Motor Speedway:

Las Vegas is a flat, fast track that¿s got a lot of grip.  While I have never raced there, I learned at the test that there are a lot of different grooves that you can run which gives the driver a little more control to adjust to how the car is handling.  We had a great test session there in January where we focused only on our race set-up.  We found a couple of combinations that really worked for us, especially on the long runs which will be very important based on the tire that Goodyear is giving us.  We¿ll unload in qualifying mode and work on adjusting that set-up for Friday¿s qualifying.  We feel well-prepared for this race and if we play are cards right, we expect a very good day for the No. 6 Ragu Dodge.

Special Appearances:

Paul Wolfe will be auctioned off on Thursday, March 4th during the sixth annual NASCAR Driver Auction at Sam¿s Town Hotel in Las Vegas. Winning bidders will have the opportunity to meet their driver prior to the start of the Sam¿s Town 300 on Saturday.  All proceeds benefit the Speedway Children¿s Charity.

On Saturday at 9:15am, Wolfe will make an appearance at the SpeedZone, Las Vegas Motor Speedway¿s public hospitality tent, where he will participate in a Q & A for fans.

This week¿s sponsor:  Ragu® pasta sauce will be the primary sponsor on the Hungry Driver¿s Dodge this week.
