79-year-old race fan Frank Mogus wins SMI Ultimate Speedway Tour,

Speedway Motorsports announces new partners and prizes for 2004 sweepstakes

 

            CONCORD, N.C. ¿ Frank Mogus, a 79-year-old race from St. Petersburg, Fla., received the best birthday gift from SMI and PRN on Friday, January 16, when he was told he won the 2003 SMI Ultimate Speedway Tour Sweepstakes.

            Mogus¿ name was selected from hundreds of thousands of entries.

            Living every race fan¿s fantasy, Mogus¿ prize included VIP accommodations for NASCAR race weekends for two at the following SMI Speedways: Las Vegas, Texas, Lowe¿s, Bristol, Atlanta Motor Speedways, and Infineon Raceway. The package also includes having pictures taken in victory lane at each race, race tickets, VIP tours, roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations and $2,000 in spending money.

            Mogus visited Las Vegas Motor Speedway this past weekend as one of his two stops.

Posting more than 2,000 prizes, PRN announced during the annual UAW-GM Motorsports Media Tour, hosted by Lowe¿s Motor Speedway, that Speedway Motorsports will offer the sweepstakes for the third year, allowing one lucky fan the opportunity to join them on the road in 2005 at all six Speedway Motorsports facilities.

            The SMI Ultimate Speedway Tour sweepstakes is proud to welcome two new sponsors for 2004. Richard Petty Driving Experience and The Sporting News, will join returning sponsors Nationwide Insurance, and WIX Filtration.

            The sweepstakes also includes 50 first-place prizes: Richard Petty Driving Experience Rookie Experiences at Walt Disney World, 1,000 Richard Petty Driving Experience ride-alongs and 1,000 annual subscriptions to The Sporting News.
