LVMS to host autograph sessions prior to

Double Down in the Desert

Race fans will get an opportunity to meet their favorite NASCAR Craftsman Truck and Champ Car World Series drivers during separate autograph sessions leading up to the Sept. 25 Double Down in the Desert at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

All 18 drivers entered in the Bridgestone 400 Presented by Corona Champ Car World Series event will be signing autographs at the ESPN Zone at the New York New York Hotel and Casino from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23.

Many of the top NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers, who will compete in the Las Vegas 350, will sign autographs at the NASCAR Street Party on the Third Street Promenade in downtown Las Vegas on Friday, Sept. 24 from 7-8 p.m. The street party, which is being produced in conjunction with the Lady Luck, will have live bands, show cars, interactive games, contests and food and souvenir vendors.

¿One of the unique qualities that motorsports possesses over many other sports is the drivers¿ willingness to make themselves available to the fans,¿ said LVMS general manager Chris Powell. ¿These events really enhance the festive atmosphere surrounding this doubleheader and help build even more excitement for both races. We appreciate the cooperation from the Lady Luck Casino and the ESPN Zone for helping create an even bigger buzz for this incredible event.¿

The Double Down in the Desert will be a first-of-its-kind event featuring a nighttime doubleheader involving the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Champ Car World Series. The Las Vegas 350 Truck race is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. The Bridgestone 400 Presented by Corona Champ Car race will follow the Truck race.

Qualifying for the Trucks will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Champ Car qualifying is slated for 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24.
