Las Vegas Motor Speedway will participate in the eighth annual Hispanic International Day Parade and Festival to be held Saturday in downtown Las Vegas from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Jim Birges' Super Modified Racing Association Supermodified will represent LVMS in the parade, which begins at 10 a.m. on 4th Street.

The speedway also will participate in the festival on Freemont Street with display booth and will offer festival attendees an opportunity to win four tickets to the 2009 Sam's Town 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Feb. 28.

The Hispanic International Day Parade and Festival, hosted by the Fremont Street Experience, aims to celebrate and increase awareness of cultural diversity among the various Latino communities and other ethnic groups in Las Vegas. Founded by Margarita Rebollal and Dr. Mildred Arroyo McClain as a means of increasing exposure to Hispanic art and culture, the Hispanic International Day Parade and Festival has grown into an event that draws more than 15,000 guests annually.
