Mike Mossholder has been named vice president of sales and marketing for Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Mossholder comes to LVMS from his post as vice president of sales and marketing for Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky.  Prior to working at the famed horse-racing facility, Mossholder spent five years as director of marketing partnerships for the Miami Dolphins and Dolphin Stadium (now Landshark Stadium).  While with the Dolphins, he was instrumental in securing corporate partnerships for the NFL team as well as for the 2007 and 2010 Super Bowls, the 2009 BCS Championship game and the Florida Marlins.

"We're very happy to have Mike joining our management team here at Las Vegas Motor Speedway," said LVMS president Chris Powell. "Mike brings a wealth of experience in professional sports and sports-venue sales and marketing to LVMS. He's coming from the most famous horse-racing facility in the world to one of the world's most popular motorsports facilities.

"Mike will be a key addition to an already strong staff here at LVMS. We're glad he's decided to exchange horses for horsepower."

Mossholder, 45, is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.  He and his wife, Arlen, have two children, Marisa and Ariana.

"I've been very fortunate to work for some premier organizations and facilities," Mossholder said.  "I've always been intrigued by motorsports, and no facility has a better reputation in the industry than Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  I'm looking forward to helping our speedway continue its trend of growth, and my family and I are excited to be relocating to the Las Vegas community."
