There won't be many drivers in the Sept. 26 Las Vegas 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race with more wins in Las Vegas than Ricky Carmichael. But there's a catch: the young driver of Kevin and Delana Harvick's Chevrolet Silverado has never seen Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Carmichael's success came across town at Sam Boyd Stadium and in the MGM Grand Garden Arena where he won world Supercross titles and several U.S. Opens.

"Las Vegas has been very special to me in my Supercross career," Carmichael said. "I have always liked coming out to Las Vegas because of my racing history there. I have been very successful in that city. I won three U.S. Open titles at the MGM Grand and wrapped up the 2006 Supercross title in Las Vegas. I have a lot of good memories."

But Carmichael will be competing on a couple more wheels in the Sept. 26 race.

"I have heard from everyone I've talked to that it's a really fun place and fast place to race at," said Carmichael, referring to the 1.5-mile superspeedway at LVMS. "I'm excited to be able to try my hand at it. I really want to be able to learn the track quickly. I think we've run quite a few venues similar to it this season, and I hope to have a good base for it. As always, my goal is to walk out with a top-10 finish."

Carmichael came to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series after completing the most successful career in motocross history. He won five AMA Supercross championships in six years from 2001-2006.

He also won numerous other events and championships including three X-Games gold medals. In all, he has won 15 motocross championships and 150 races. His success gained him the nickname of GOAT (Great Of All-Time).

But the 29-year-old Floridian is a rookie in every sense in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Carmichael has made 13 starts in the Truck Series and recorded two top-10 finishes with his best being a seventh-place finish at Kentucky Speedway July 18.

Tickets for the Las Vegas 350 still are available at www.lvms.com or by calling the speedway ticket services department at 1-800-644-4444. Neon Garage passes are available for just $10.
