For the first time ever, North American Big Rig Racing will turn left at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday night.

The Canada-based association is sending a dozen drivers to compete at the 3/8-mile paved oval in a 40-lap feature that will cap a full night of grassroots racing at the track. The Big Rigs will have a four-lap trophy dash to kick off the evening's races, as well as a pair of eight-lap heat races that will determine the starting order for the 40-lap feature.

The Bullring hosted a two-lap exhibition featuring six semi-trucks pulling trailers in July 2011, but this will mark the first time the NABRR has raced in Las Vegas.

North American Big Rig Racing has held races in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington since 1989, and this weekend's appearance at The Bullring kicks off NABRR's seven-race 2015 season schedule. The 12 drivers are bringing an array of truck models ranging from 1958 to 2004, with more than 3,000 horsepower pumping through their engines.

In addition to the Big Rigs, Saturday's schedule includes Bandolero cars, Thunder Cars, Super Stocks, Legends, Bombers and Grand American Modifieds. This weekend marks the third of 14 race weekends on The Bullring's 2015 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series schedule, and fans will be treated to great hospitality while enjoying great competition.

One of the most affordable entertainment options in Las Vegas, the Bullring's annual series will feature family friendly concession prices that include $2 hot dogs and Coca-Cola products and $3 Budweiser beer. Spectators can also save money by purchasing admission tickets in advance by visiting or calling the LVMS ticket office at 702.644.4444 or online at

Gates open for spectators at 5 p.m. Saturday, opening ceremonies are set for 6:50 and racing begins at 7.
