Saturday will be a special night at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, as the track will pay tribute to local law enforcement, fire fighters and first responders with Hometown Heroes Night Presented by K&N Filters.
The 3/8-mile track will be a hotbed of activity as dozens of representatives from several Las Vegas-area jurisdictions will be on-hand to participate in opening ceremonies, display a variety of service vehicles and provide an array of interactive activities for fans. All police, fire and EMS personnel and their families (up to four people) will be given free admission to The Bullring with valid IDs.
In addition, representatives from area departments will provide an Honor Guard, national anthem singer and invocation during Opening Ceremonies on the track. A number of service vehicles will also participate in a parade lap and help lead the pace car around the track for each of the night's eight feature races, and department representatives will wave the green flag to start the evening's races.
Fans will be able to enjoy a full slate of racing that starts with a pair of 12-lap USLCI O'Hanley's Bandolero features, then follows with USLCI Thunder Cars, NASCAR Super Stocks and USLCI Legends. USAC HPD Midgets, NASCAR Super Late Models and NASCAR Bombers then anchor the night with a trio of features.
Hometown Heroes Night is the latest in a series of theme nights The Bullring will host this season. On Saturday, June 13, LVMS will salute its Las Vegas-area casino partners with a Partner Appreciation Night that will feature an on-track autograph session, and the track's annual Night of Fire will follow on Friday, July 3, with waterless boat races among the special activities planned for the night.
One of the most affordable entertainment options in Las Vegas, the Bullring's annual series will feature family friendly concession prices that include $2 hot dogs and Coca-Cola products and $3 Budweiser beer. Spectators can also save money by purchasing admission tickets in advance by visiting or calling the LVMS ticket office at 702.644.4444 or online at LVMS.com.
Gates open for spectators at 5 p.m. Pacific Time on Saturday, opening ceremonies are set for 7 p.m. and racing follows immediately.
