Sunday was a magical day for Antron Brown and Erica Enders.

The NHRA drivers clinched their second career world championships during the quarterfinal round of the NHRA Toyota Nationals in front of a packed crowd at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Brown clinched his first Mello Yello world tile since 2012 by getting past Dave Connolly in the Top Fuel division quarterfinals after eight-time World Champion Tony Schumacher fell to Larry Dixon earlier in the same round.

"I'm just really pumped and feel truly blessed to get it," Brown said. "It's great to shut the door on this 2015 season, and I couldn't be prouder or more happy to do it with this team and these guys. This is incredible, and it feels great to get it done here in Vegas.

"This one here is so much better than the first, because the competition now is quadruple times as tough in Top Fuel."

Brown lost to Doug Kalitta by .012 of a second in the semifinals, but still left town with a big-time title. Kalitta squared off against No. 2 qualifier Larry Dixon in the finals, with Kalitta taking his third win of the season after Dixon had trouble off the line.

"It was quite a day," said Kalitta, who now has two career wins at The Strip at LVMS. "Once we got past Antron (Brown), I was feeling real good for the final. It was a lucky win for us, really, but we'll take it.

"It's Vegas, and anything can happen."

Enders kept her winning streak at LVMS going to 20 rounds with a semifinal-round win over Shane Gray to secure the title minutes after teammate Vincent Nobile knocked off No. 2 Greg Anderson. She was still numb after the big win.

"I am speechless. I don't even know what to say," said Enders, who now has nine wins on the season. "My guys are so incredible, and they are what I needed in my Pro Stock career. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you get the right people around you.

"Vegas has always been great to me. To do it in front of all of my sponsors and family here this weekend is incredible."

Enders went on to beat Bo Butner in the finals to complete the Las Vegas season sweep and run her unbeaten streak at The Strip at LVMS to 23 consecutive rounds.

The points races in Funny Car and Pro Stock Motorcycle will go on to the season-ending race Nov. 12-15 in Pomona, Calif. Robert Hight won the Wally at The Strip in the Funny Car division by topping top qualifier Tommy Johnson Jr. in the finals after Johnson Jr. smoked his tires early in his pass.

"It was a really good weekend, and we made a lot of good runs," said Hight, who now has 36 career wins and improved to 13-6 all-time against Johnson Jr. "We've been working hard all year, and it's starting to come together. We always love coming to Vegas, and seeing these stands the way they were on Saturday and Sunday, it was amazing the fans we had here.

"In the final, we knew we had a tough matchup with Tommy Johnson, the top qualifier, and luckily it went our way. John (Force) beat me here in the Spring, and that bugged me all year, so it's good to be back in the winner's circle in Vegas."

Top qualifier Jerry Savoie red-lined the Pro Stock Motorcycle final in Las Vegas against No. 2 qualifier Andrew Hines.

"I saw it as soon as I popped the clutch, and I said, 'Hey, the red light is on and that's 46 points and not six,'" said Hines, the defending world champion. "It could have gone his way just as easily as it went mine, and he had one bad motorcycle all day long. Luckily, I was good enough to turn on a few win lights and got the motorcycle running consistently, and that helped out huge."

In the Pro Mod division, Troy Coughlin Sr. also clinched the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Racing Series 2015 world championship despite not winning a race this season. Khalid alBalooshi won the Las Vegas event to become the series' 10th different winner of the year.

"We had a fast race car, and we had a tough competitor in the second round," Coughlin said. "We just made a little bit better run than they did at that point. Steve (Petty) and these guys did a great job giving me a race car to run in."
