Pins will be falling by the dozens on Saturday, Dec. 5, when the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities hosts the eighth annual Bob Tallman Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Charity Bowling Tournament at the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino.
The popular event is part of a seemingly endless array of rodeo-related activities that will take place during the Wrangler NFR, which runs Dec. 3-12 at the Thomas & Mack Center. ProRodeo Hall of Fame announcer Bob Tallman continues to partner with SCC's Las Vegas Chapter to raise money for children in Southern Nevada.
"This is one of our most unique and popular fundraising events of the year, and Bob Tallman has been a wonderful partner for us," SCC Las Vegas Chapter Director Paulette Anderson said. "People have a great time at the Gold Coast's wonderful bowling alley, there are lots of laughs and fellowship, and it's all for a worthy cause. Events like this help us make a difference in the lives of countless children in Southern Nevada, and it's a great time for everyone."
Rodeo champions and Hall of Famers, entertainment industry stars, local celebrities and rodeo industry leaders will be among the nearly 300 people who take part in the bowling tournament.
The entry fee is $160 per team and $50 for individuals, and each participant will receive two games of bowling, shoe rental, a goodie bag, t-shirt and lunch. Event sponsor packages are also available for $325, and that includes one four-person team and a celebrity bowler, corporate logo placement on lane banners, promotional material in participant goodie bags, a t-shirt and lunch.
The tournament helps those in need in Southern Nevada and benefited more than 45 charities in 2014 alone. This year, Speedway Children's Charities will donate nearly $250,000 to more than 50 area charities.
Tournament sponsors include Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino, Coors Light, Royal Wire and Montana Silversmiths. To register, contact Paulette Anderson at 702.632.8242, or log on to lasvegas.speedwaycharities.org/ for more information.
