The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities will host the 14th annual Drive for Charity Golf Tournament Presented by Insomniac on Monday, June 27, to raise funds for a great cause.
The event will take place at TPC Summerlin, one of the most prestigious courses in all of Nevada and home to a PGA Tour event each year. Speedway Children's Charities' Las Vegas Chapter will receive all proceeds from the tournament. Participants will enjoy one of the top courses in the valley and receive a variety of items, all in the name of helping the children of Southern Nevada.
The private club will open its doors and give locals a unique opportunity to play where the PGA Tour pros play on one of the most treasured courses around. The course has been rated as "One of America's Best Golf Courses" by Golf Digest magazine and the No. 1 private golf course in Nevada by Nevada Business Magazine.
In addition to Insomniac, the event is sponsored by Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Coca-Cola, Nevada Beverages, Shriners Hospitals, The Cannery, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Lexus of Las Vegas, Cashman Photo and ESPN Radio Las Vegas. Registration begins at 7 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8 a.m., and the tournament features a scramble format.
The tournament helps SCC support children in need in Southern Nevada, and the charity donated $257,000 to 55 charities in 2015 alone.
The entry fee is $1,000 per foursome or $250 for individuals, and players will receive a round of golf, golf cart use, unlimited range balls, continental breakfast, awards lunch, gifts and goodie bags. Complimentary chair massage, a Lexus of Las Vegas-sponsored hole-in-one contest and a ball drop, courtesy of Maverick Helicopters, also will be available.
The tournament also will feature a raffle, with prizes ranging from golf foursomes to spa packages and NASCAR tickets. To register, contact Paulette Anderson at 702.632.8242 or log on to lasvegas.speedwaycharities.org/ for more information.
