NASCAR Super Stocks driver Don Sargent was among the points leaders who widened their advantages at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway at the Chris Trickle Classic on Saturday night.

Sargent completed his second two-race sweep of the year on the special evening, pushing his Bullring win total to 22 and opening a 147-125 lead over Utah driver Matt Larsen in the process. Sargent is looking for his first track title and will need to maintain his grip atop the standings for four races before the season concludes on Sept. 24.

Six-time track champion Scott Gafforini doubled his lead over 45-time race winner Justin Johnson from four to eight points, 168-160, after winning the first of two NASCAR Super Late Models features on Saturday night. Chris Clyne, the son of LVMS founder Richie Clyne, is a close third with 158 points.

Sam Jacks (NASCAR Bombers), Peyton Saxton (NASCAR Grand American Modifieds), Brian Williams (USLCI Legends-Semi-Pro) and R.J. Smotherman (USLCI Bandolero Bandits) also expanded their points leads in their respective divisions.

Chris Bosley appeared to have also widened his lead over Travis Boyle in the USLCI Thunder Car class after winning the night's feature, but was disqualified for not going to post-race tech inspection. Boyle was awarded the race victory and takes over the points lead as a result, holding at 159-149 advantage over Bosley heading into the next racing weekend.

The other points lead change occurred in the USLCI Bandolero Outlaws division, where Kayla Eshleman used her sixth race win of 2016 to jump past Camden Larsen for the top spot. Eshleman leads 145-140 with four races remaining in that class.

Cameron Morga (USLCI Legends-Pro), Michael Todd Glazier (USLCI Legends-Masters) and Caden Carlin (USLCI Legends-Young Lions) each lost a bit of ground on their second-place counterparts, but remained atop their respective divisions. The skid plate cars did not race on Saturday, so Robert Smotherman maintained his 25-point lead over Court Connell and Bryce Wolfe.

Racing returns to the 3/8-mile paved oval on Saturday, July 2, when LVMS hosts the immensely popular Night of Fire. The special night will include the NASCAR Super Late Models' 76-lap feature, the Spirit of '76, as well as a NASCAR Bombers breakout race, waterless boat races and fireworks as part of a fun and full schedule of action.

One of the most affordable entertainment options in Las Vegas, the Bullring features family friendly concession prices that include $2 hot dogs and Coca-Cola products and $3 Budweiser beer. Spectators can also save money by purchasing tickets in advance by visiting or calling the LVMS ticket office at 702.644.4444 or going online at LVMS.com.
