Jon Irving of Henderson (Sportsman) and Gary Oaks of Las Vegas (Motorcycle) swept their respective classes in an E.T. Bracket Series and Jr. Dragster doubleheader this past weekend at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Irving defeated fellow Henderson resident Tristan Craig in Saturday's Sportsman final and came back on Sunday and beat Las Vegan Rick Emanuel.

Oaks, the top qualifier on Saturday, beat Lonnie Woodruff of North Las Vegas in Saturday's final and topped Kahea Woods of Las Vegas in Sunday's final.

In a matchup of Las Vegas residents, Terry Souza won Saturday's Super Pro final against Becky Phlegar. Chad Webber of Kingman, Ariz., defeated Cecil Wiles Jr. of Ridgecrest, Calif., in Sunday's Super Pro final.

Bob Coulter of Las Vegas won his third Pro final of the season when he defeated fellow Las Vegan Theodore Logan Sr. in Saturday's final and Larry Pittenger of Williams, Ariz., won for the second time this season when he beat Michael Kelly of Las Vegas in Sunday's Pro final.

In Jr. Dragster competition, Las Vegans Reilly Garceau and Keoki Desa were winners in the Thunder class and Josh Gagnon of Las Vegas and Elizabeth Strones of Flagstaff, Ariz., took top honors in the Lightning division.

The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will be dark this weekend. Racing will resume Friday, June 13 with an open Test 'n' Tune and the seventh installment of Mopar Midnight Mayhem.
