Good night from The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and be sure to check here Saturday and Sunday for updates from the NHRA Toyota Nationals.

6:45 p.m. -- Comments from provisional Top Fuel pole-sitter Shawn Langdon following two rounds of qualifying:

(On the day's qualifying runs) "The Al-Anabi team just did a phenomenal job on the race car today. Tomorrow is just trying to make good clean runs and get those points. It's a big weekend for us since Toyota is a big sponsor and we want to put on a good show for them. We obviously want to put on a good show for the fans as well and we hope to keep those win lights coming for Sunday."

6:35 p.m. - Second-round Nitro qualifying has been completed and Shawn Langdon is the Top Fuel provisional pole-sitter. Langdon's run 3.778 seconds at 324.28 mph kept him at the top of the speed chart going into Saturday.

6:20 p.m. - Comments from provisional Funny Car pole-sitter Courtney Force following two rounds of qualifying:

(On moving up to number on) It definitely felt good. You always like to have one great pass down there. It felt great going up there on the second pass. My team gave me a great car for the second round. It felt great to make a solid pass. We have some pretty good luck at the strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The fans are great and we love running out here."

(On the potential for a championship win) "Obviously we don't have the championship out of sight and anything is possible. Coming out here, we want to be consistent. We don't want to make mistakes and we want to make the rest of the season good. We are just trying to pick up points and trying to get the gap a little smaller so that I can climb up the points system."

5:50 p.m. - After two rounds of Funny Car qualifying Courtney Force's run of 4.052 seconds at 318.24 mph, gave her the provisional pole followed by Jack Beckman (4.052 at 315.56) and Cruz Pedregon (4.064 at 316.01). Top Fuel qualifying is going on now. Click HERE for complete qualifying results

5:40 p.m. - Comments from provisional Pro Stock pole-sitter Allen Johnson following two rounds of qualifying:

(On Vegas being a "must-win") "We've got to win the last two races and we're certainly up for it. We're motivated. We've got it on kill to get every little point available. The mentality is that we have to go for it on every single run. I believe that it's going to be fairly close."

"We've been right there [at the top of the points race] all year. We got off to a slow start at the beginning of the season. You've got to have a little bit of luck and it's all coming around for us right now. I've got all the confidence in the world in our team…and in my guys. I think we can get it done."

5:25 p.m. - Allen Johnson, currently number four in the Pro Stock series points, held on to the number one qualifying spot for two rounds today, finishing up with a 6.651 run at 207.46 mph. Check out complete round two Pro Stock qualifying results HERE

5 p.m. - Comments from provisional Pro Stock Motorcycle pole-sitter Adam Arana following two rounds of qualifying:

(On the difference in his first and second run of the day) "My first pass of the day went way right and as a driver, you have to be prepared for that because you don't have a lot of time to react. It's a lot harder than people think. The bike spun and drifted, almost sending me into the wall. On the second run, my dad made a good call and because of him, I'm number one."

"I definitely need to do well this weekend. I'm going to go as far as I can go I these rounds. I need to say focused and ride to the best of my ability…easier said than done."

4:30 p.m. - Adam Arana (Pro Stock Motorcycle) made a huge jump to the top of the qualifying order (from 17th position in round one) with a run of 6.946 seconds at 192.71 mph. 2:45 p.m. - Funny Car points leader John Force grabbed the provisional pole with a pass of 4.085 seconds and 308.99 mph. Force, leading the Funny Car points in front of Matt Hagan, is working to clinch his 16th Funny Car world championship title this season.

Force commented on his strong season run earlier this week: "Our mindset is the same as it has been all year and that we want to win this race," said Force, who earned his last championship in 2010. "I am not thinking about being the points leader. There are three guys behind me that could take this points lead from me and I especially am watching Hagan and his team. I feel good about how we have been running, but all my cars have been running good. The Auto Club Mustang with Robert (Hight) is right there and Courtney and that Traxxas Mustang can move up. I love Las Vegas, though, so it will be a great race and I am looking forward to getting back in my Jimmy Prock hot rod." >> See the full story on Force's race to another championship HERE.
