Aaron McMorran and Don Sargent have won four of the five NASCAR Bomber races this season and the result is one of the closest points races in NASCAR Whelen All-American Series competition at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Although Sargent has won the past two Bomber feature races at The Bullring, he trails fellow Las Vegas resident McMorran by only two points after five races. Nathan Boss, who won the other feature race this season, is 26 points behind McMorran in third place.

The closest points battle is in the NASCAR Super Stock class, where Vinny Raucci Jr. holds a slim one-point lead over James Wingard, who has won the past two features. Raucci Jr. has not won a main event this season but has finishes of third, second and third.

Scott Gafforini, who has won three straight features after finishing third in the season opener, continues to lead the NASCAR Super Late Model division by 21 points over David Anderson. Kayli Barker, a 16-year old high school student, has finishes of sixth, sixth, second and third and is third in points, four points out of second place.

Jason Irwin of Albuquerque, N.M., is the only Bullring driver to lead two classes. He has won both NASCAR Grand American Modified features this season and leads that division by 14 points over Scott Osborne of Las Vegas. Irwin also has a pair of wins in the USLCI Legend Car Pro division and a 16-point lead over Peyton Saxton of Las Vegas.

Other division points leaders are TJ Clark (Legend Car Master), Devin lane (Legend Car Semi-Pro), Jordan Dean (Legend Car Young Lions), Ron Reed (Thunder Car), Caden Carlin (Bandolero Outlaws) and Mason Sargent (Bandolero Bandits).

NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing resumes Saturday, May 17 with Lucas Oil Night at The Bullring. The Lucas Oil Modified Series will be joined that night by Super Late Models, Super Stocks, Bombers, Legend Cars, Bandoleros and the USAC HPD Midget Series.
