Toyota has extended its agreement with NHRA to be the title-rights sponsor of the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event held in the fall at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas.

"Toyota's extension as title sponsor of the NHRA Toyota Nationals further shows the steadfastness of Toyota and their NHRA partnership," said Brad Gerber, NHRA vice president of sales & chief development officer. "NHRA is very happy to be able to maintain the dependable relationship it has created with Toyota and hopes for it to not only continue, but become even more successful."

The event, which will be Oct. 26-29, is the fifth race of NHRA's Countdown to the Championship, NHRA's six-race playoffs. The extension builds upon NHRA's and Toyota's strong partnership that includes Toyota as the Official Car of NHRA and Toyota's title-rights sponsorship of the Toyota NHRA Sonoma National at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. (July 28-30).

As title sponsor of the race, Toyota will have a strong presence at The Strip with display space in the midway, inflatables, starting-line bannering and participation in the Winner's Circle ceremony. Toyota will also be given the opportunity to name a grand marshal and honorary starter for the event.

"The NHRA Toyota Nationals has become one of the most exciting events on the circuit with major championship implications," said Paul Doleshal, Toyota senior manager, motorsports and assets. "Whether it's our drivers delivering on track or the experience we bring to fans in the midway, this extension with The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway allows us to interact with some of the greatest racing fans in America."
