The trophy that Sunday’s winner of the Kobalt Tools 400 will hoist in victory lane was unveiled today at Las Vegas Motor Speedway by track president Chris Powell and Kobalt Tools Brand Manager Greg Palese.  In addition to the unveiling, a special trophy tour with Miss Sprint Cup was announced, allowing fans the opportunity to see the trophy at various locations around Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“We are really excited about our new partnership with Lowe's and its Kobalt Tools brand," Powell said. "We will be moving the trophy around the speedway on Friday and Saturday and will allow fans in the Neon Garage to take photos with the new trophy in Victory Lane on Saturday morning. We're looking forward to seeing this trophy hoisted high on Sunday by the winner of the Kobalt Tools 400.”

Immediately after the announcement the trophy will begin traveling to locations that will be announced on the Facebook pages of Team Lowe’s Racing, Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Miss Sprint Cup as well as the twitter accounts of each -@DoubleJ48,@lvmotorspeedway, and @MissSprintCup.  Fans can visit those locations to see the nearly 80 lb.-trophy up close and take pictures with it and Miss Sprint Cup. The trophy will stay at each location for an hour.

In addition, on Saturday from 9:30-11:30 a.m., Lowe’s will provide a professional photographer to take photos of fans with the Kobalt Tools 400 trophy in the Neon Garage’s Victory Lane. The photographs will be available for download on LowesRacing.com following the event.

“While the drivers and the crews get to see the Kobalt Tools 400 trophy up close, we wanted to do something for the fans,” said Palese. “No matter which driver they root for, we think the fans will appreciate the fact they can have their picture taken with the trophy this weekend, whether it’s at one of the special locations or in victory lane on Saturday.”

The aluminum alloy wrench on top of the trophy measures 30 in. x 9.5 in. and took 16 hours to polish.  Smaller versions of the trophy will be awarded to the winning crew.
