Officials for The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway today announced an early-season schedule for 2009.

"We've been working on our schedule for several weeks and wanted to give our participants as much lead time as possible to make their early-season plans," said Chris Blair, LVMS's vice president of racing operations. "The early season at The Strip at LVMS is extremely popular with racers who live in cold-weather areas and we've added some exciting events to the program to make it even more appealing for them."

Jan. 11 - Jr. Dragster rules and competition orientation session Test 'n' Tune.
Jan. 16 - Open test day.
Jan. 17 - Open test day, Strip banquet in Neon Garage's Blackjack Club.
Jan. 18 - Open test day (tentative).
Jan. 23 - Midnight Mayhem.
Jan. 24-25 - Super Association Weekend at The Strip (Super Comp, Pro Gas, SCEDA, Top Comp Association).

Jan. 30 - NHRA Division 7 National Open and Pro Stock Showdown qualifying.
Jan. 31 - NHRA Division 7 National Open and Pro Stock Showdown eliminations.
Feb. 1 - Open track day, Test 'n' Tune.
Feb. 2 - Pro Stock testing.
Feb. 3 - Pro Stock testing.

The 2009 schedule of events for March through June will be released no later than Labor Day Weekend and the complete 2009 schedule will be posted at the NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals in October.
